About the Role

The Controller will serve as the accounting department lead and oversee general ledger accountability, financial reporting, invoicing and accounts receivable, staff/vendor supervision, and other special projects as assigned.

More Details on Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (A/P, A/R, payroll, expense approval, GL)
  • Oversee the production of client monthly invoices in coordination with operations and Client Success Team.  Create/approve final invoices in the accounting system.
  • Manage bookkeeping staff to maintain accurate accounting records (Quickbooks)
  • Oversee Payroll processing & administration & benefits administration
  • Prepare all financial reports as needed including financial statements, forecasts, and budgets reports.
  • Manage the year-end closing process with CPA in accordance with GAAP
  • Revenue recognition and analysis of revenue and expenses
  • Monitor budget and YTD performance against it; make recommendations for corrective action
  • Coordinate and maintain corporate insurance policies
  • Interface with tax advisory firm in preparation of all tax detail work papers
  • Identify new technology systems and create new processes for improved efficiency in accounting systems (A/P, A/R, payroll, expense approval, GL)

Qualification

  • Self-starter, proactive business person in a finance role including solid business acumen, strategic thinking and broad vision of long term growth of the business
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and through presentations.
  • Proven track record of accounting management and independent ownership of accounting responsibilities
  • Strong thought leadership skills including demonstrated ability to generate new ideas and challenge the status quo
  • Ability to motivate, develop and promote the talents of the team
  • Ability to work under time pressure and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
